About Me

I started my writing journey in 2023 as an escape from the chronic pain I endure as an endometriosis warrior. I was disappointed in the lack of South Asian protagonists in the fantasy genre, so I’m committed to sharing stories that feature characters of color. Read on for a synopsis of my current work in progress!

In a world ravaged by climate change, eighteen-year-old Nisha Ravichandran has dreamt of escaping the treacherous, ever-burning fires of Eddistown for as long as she can remember. She might not have money or connections, but she does have a plan: 1.) Show proof that she has water magic, just like her father, so that she can declare herself a Seasonal. 2.) Attend Meteora University, the most prestigious academic institution for Seasonals. 3.) Graduate in four years and use her degree to get a job far, far away from Eddistown. But when Nisha discovers that she has fall magic, a type of magic that up until now has only belonged to the oppressors of her race, the Autumnals, she fears her powers may be more of a curse than a blessing.

Desperate for answers, Nisha commits to Meteora’s College of Fall, but the burden of her fall magic becomes the least of her worries when someone begins attacking students of color, leaving them hospitalized and powerless. As if tough classes, racist peers, and a dangerous competition designed to test her wits and fears weren’t enough to handle, Nisha knows it’s only a matter of time until the attacker comes for her, too.

To find the person responsible and stop the attacks, Nisha must shed her internalized prejudice and embrace her fall magic before she and her classmates permanently lose their powers, or worse, their lives.
